James Montgomery Flagg, 1917

"Only in winter can you tell which trees are truly green

Only when the winds of adversity blow can you tell whether an individual or a country has steadfastness."

John F. Kennedy, 35th President of the United States: 1961-1963

We Will Not Forget

11 September 2001. People desperately look out of the burning North Tower of the World Trade Center. They are above the point of impact, and are unable to escape. The heat and smoke from the fire caused by the collision is so intense that their last refuge is the cool air temperature by the broken windows. Shortly after this photo was taken the tower fell. 2,750 civilian men and woman perished in the destruction of the World Trade Center complex. When you include the plane that crashed in a field in Pennsylvania, and the plane that slammed into the side of the Pentagon, a total of 2,974 fathers, mothers and friends never came home again after 11 September 2001.
