A hike on the east side of Mount Diablo State Park

Contra Costa County, California
23 March 2008
9.44 miles, 2,983 ft. accumulated climb
Wanda and I decided to explore the east side of Mount Diablo. Spring was in the air: The hills were green, the creeks were burbling, the air was fragrant with delicious smells, and flowers were in bloom. We started the hike in Clayton, at the Regency Drive entrance (600 feet), and hiked up to the Prospector's Gap saddle (2,950 feet).
